   5 Resource Reservation and Resource Capacity Management are features to be
   6 supported by the VIM and exposed to the consumer via the VIM NBI. These
   7 features have been specified by ETSI NFV.

   9 This document has described several use cases and corresponding high level
  10 flows where Resource Reservation and Capacity Management are of great benefit
  11 for the consumer of the virtualised resource management interface: the NFVO or
  12 the VNFM. The use cases include:

  14 * Notification of changes in capacity in the NFVI
  15 * Query of available resource capacity
  16 * Reservation of a resource or set of resources for immediate use
  17 * Reservation of a resource or set of resources for future use
  18
  19 The Promise project has performed a gap analysis in order to fulfil the
  20 required functionality. Based on the gap analysis an implementation plan and
  21 way forward has been proposed, including a possible design architecture and
  22 high level information model. Immediate next steps of this project is to
  23 deliver a working Proof-of-Concepts (PoC) and engage upstream communities to
  24 fill out the gaps identified by Promise.
